Terranean refers to planet Earth, as I am a geographer. It also includes Tera, a diminutive of my name. And I am a knitter and sewer. That's what Terranean Stitch means.

Dear reader, since I remember, I have always had a blog. Even now, although I haven’t posted anything in a while. So it’s natural I created a new blog focused on my knitting and sewing, isn’t it? Because coding some basic websites (with a bit of help from my husband) is my hobby, too.

It started in the winter of 2020/2021 when I spent a lot of time microscoping soil samples to detect microplastics polluting the environment. It was very monotonous work, so I used to watch knitting podcasts on YouTube (I can recommend Dunkelgrün podcast, Fiber Tales podcast, and recently I really love Gently Chaotic Knits podcast). I also wanted to try podcasting because I was craving for fellow knitters I could talk to about my projects, yarns, and knitting in general.

So I tried. But I wasn’t comfortable talking in front of a camera, not knowing how to focus on the project and see what I am showing at the same time. Especially when I had to speak in English.

Later I realized that even in real life, I am much more comfortable writing than talking. So here it is! My own space to freely “talk” about my knitting and sewing projects! Dear reader, I would be pleased if you’d enjoy that space too and join in the conversation.
